Lee's Street on the Westbank

This cemetery is probably the least known cemetery in New Orleans. Many people don't recognize it as a "New Orleans Cemetery." It is located in a residential area on the West Bank. The very small cemetery is flanked by homes. One side of the cemetery is across the street from the other. There are no tombs, just very few copings and mostly below ground graves. It is in pretty bad shape, although the grass and weeds are maintained. Most of the headstones are sinking into the ground. There are many that are hand made. It is a very interesting cemetery, in that it is so different than the typical cemeteries of New Orleans. It almost appears to belong in an old desolate town in the country, not in a major city.
